Prithviraj Chavan is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra (2010–2014). A mechanical engineer from BITS Pilani and UC Berkeley, he worked in aircraft instrumentation in the US before entering politics. Known for his clean image and technocratic approach, he held several key positions in the UPA government and was involved in drafting the civil nuclear liability bill.
